Could You Make Wales A Safer Place?

Wales’ Fire and Rescue Services are working together to recruit wholetime firefighters ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

In 2015, the Fire and Rescue Services in Wales received over 5,900 registrations of interest to be part of the Fire and Rescue Service community in the role of Wholetime Firefighter. Within the first five minutes of opening the campaign, the Services received 60 online registrations. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

This year, Mid and West and South Wales Fire and Rescue Services are collaborating on another Wholetime Firefighter Recruitment Campaign and both are hoping for a similar positive response within the registration period. As always, the recruitment process for Wholetime Firefighters is extremely competitive. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Interested individuals have just three days to register for the application process – online registration opens 09:00 on Monday 5th December and closes at 23:59 on Wednesday 7th December. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Both Services are looking for community focused and dedicated individuals who are committed to making their communities a safer place. To be considered, individuals will need to demonstrate that they share the Services’ core values, as well as being prepared to commit to the level of training and fitness required to meet the challenging demands of the role. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Firefighters are trained to deal with a variety of firefighting and rescue incidents, but they are also equipped to reduce risk through visiting homes, schools and community groups providing safety information. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
