Appeal For Information – Were You In Or Around The Area Of Lloyds Bar, Newport On New Year’s Eve?

We are appealing for information following an incident that took place outside Lloyds Bar in Newport at approximately 11.05pm on Saturday 31st December 2016 (New Year’s Eve). ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

A 26 year old man was assaulted resulting in him having a broken jaw in two places that required surgery. The victim is currently at home recovering. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Officers are keen to speak to the four individuals shown in the CCTV images who were in the area at the time. Following the incident, the men walked from Lloyds bar, up towards the underpass before walking on to Devon Place. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
