Warning To Tredegar Residents After Thieves Target The Area

Gwent Police are warning residents to keep a closer eye on their property and report any suspicious activity immediately after a spike in reported incidents throughout the Tredegar area overnight (Friday 13th – Saturday 14th May 2016) ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Three vehicles were broken into on Merthyr Road, Tredegar. Items stolen include: sunglasses, clothes and CDs. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Tredegar PC, Ceri McDermott says: “We’re currently investigating each reported crime and asking residents to always secure their property. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“Extra patrols have now been put in place by uniformed and plain clothed officers. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“I also want remind people not to leave valuable items on view in their cars – and always look the doors. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
