Spate Of Car Thefts Prompts Warning To Shoppers In Splott
Police are investigating a spate of car crimes which have occurred in the Lidl car park in Splott over the past couple of months.
Mobile phones, bags, and lap tops have been stolen from at least ten vehicles which have had windows smashed in the process.
Eyewitnesses have described youths on bikes as being responsible.
As a result of the incidents, patrols have increased in the area and officers are working with the store to implement crime prevention measures.
Anybody using the car park is urged not to leave any valuables on display when leaving vehicles unattended.
Investigations into the incidents are ongoing.
Inspector Lyndon Jones, said: “We have increased patrols in the area and an investigation is underway to identify those responsible. They are targeting vehicles with property left on display because they are easy targets.
“My advice is don’t make it easy for them – it takes less than three seconds to smash a window and grab what’s inside.”
