Torfaen Christmas Waste And Recycling Arrangements

Refuse and recycling collections in Torfaen will take place a day later than scheduled over the Christmas break. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Between Friday 23 December and Saturday 7 January collections will also start from 6am and residents are asked to place their containers at their kerbside or collection point for 6am. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Collections will take place on the following dates: ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The council is also encouraging residents to make the most of their recycling collections over the Christmas period. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Envelopes, and wrapping paper that doesn’t have foil on, can be recycled in the black recycling box, together with plastic packaging such as selection box trays, drinks cans and bottles, and plastic tubs and trays. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Greetings cards and any cardboard packaging can be recycled in the blue recycling sack. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Any leftover food such as vegetable peelings, turkey bones, or tea bags, can be disposed of in the brown kerbside caddy. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Christmas trees can be taken to the household waste recycling centre in New Inn. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The household waste recycling centre will be open as usual over the Christmas break, only closing on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
