Ben Horder has secured a job with Cardiff based agency S3, months before he graduates this summer. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“Of a variety of agencies my course and lecturers gave me the privilege to meet, S3 stood out to me due to their values and personality. Matt Jones, the CEO, had something I could relate to and I quickly decided that this was a place I would love to work one day” commented Ben, who is from Chepstow. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

S3 set up an internship programme: S3 Academy as a result of the link made with the Advertising Design course, and Ben was successful in his application to this, which was where the journey started for him: ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“At S3 I learnt a lot very quickly and they gave me the opportunity to really get stuck in and get hands on. They gave me plenty to do around and out of the office over my two weeks at S3. Of a variety of jobs, one task over my time there was to create a video or vlog of what I had learnt whilst I was there (which was a lot!). ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

I presented the video to the team at the end of my two weeks there and the reaction I received was incredible.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Ben is likely to start work in the summer, and is already planning ahead: ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“I got along with everyone at S3 and felt comfortable and supported from day one. To be offered a job there was a surreal and gob smacking moment and I’m extremely excited to get started and dive in. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Thank you, USW and a huge thank you to S3 Advertising!” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Lee Thomas, course leader for Advertising Design commented that “We’re really proud of Ben, but not surprised at what he’s accomplished as he’s really talented. The reason we offer these live briefs with real agencies for students is to offer them experience that will help them get jobs: in this case Ben has managed to secure a position from the direct networking he’s done on the course – even better”. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
