Procurement professional Abdul Mujeb is quite literally on the fast track to success after being awarded the CIPS Middle East Young Procurement and Supply Chain Professional of the Year 2016. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Abdul is currently working towards Management Development Centre’s fast-track MSc Strategic Procurement Management in the UK – awarded by the University of South Wales. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The MSc programme allows Abdul to continue with his full-time work with ALDAR Properties PJSC in Abu Dhabi, where he is an Asset Management Contract Specialist looking after a large portfolio of retail, residential, commercial and hospitality assets. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Management Development Centre Managing Director Mike Sands says: “We are delighted for Abdul as this is a prestigious award where he was up against professionals from Abu Dhabi Airports, Emirates Global Aluminium, Dubai Municipality & Emirates National Oil Company.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The 25-year-old graduated from Emirates Aviation University as an Aerospace Engineer before completing his CIPS level 3, 4, 5 and 6 qualifications. He has previously worked with Emirates Airlines, Abu Dhabi Aviation and Abu Dhabi Airports as Procurement Consultant. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The award was open to all procurement professionals aged 30 or under, and aimed to find the profession’s ‘one to watch’. The judges looked for evidence of achievement that is significant and beyond what is normally expected from procurement professionals of this age and experience. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Their comments included: “The testimonials attached to his nomination clearly indicated good work he has done for stakeholders. He is a result-oriented professional who brings enthusiasm to his team and a can-do attitude to those around him.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“Our MSc is ideal for both up-and-coming professionals, such as Abdul, and is also an option for those who have years of management experience but who don’t necessarily have an undergraduate degree. The programme allows them to complete their MSc by attending two modules and providing a dissertation,” Mr Sands added. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
