Music Specialists Gives Students The Inside Line
Music students at the University of South Wales (USW) were recently treated to a music sector masterclass.
Bristol-born industry veteran Estelle Wilkinson revealed insights into the role of the artist development manager during her talk, entitled ‘The Way I See It’.
Estelle worked with global superstars Coldplay between 2000 and 2006, being involved in their meteoric rise to fame, including their debut album Parachutes to their third studio creation, X&Y.
Having left the industry, Estelle now sits on the board of directors at the Welsh Music Foundation, a body that leads music development in Wales.
Organiser and BA Music Business course leader Lucy Squire said: “Hosting a high profile music figure in Estelle is a huge endorsement for our course and teaching here at USW.
“Students were able to take away vital information for their futures as well as a few interesting stories from her days with Coldplay.
“It’s certainly whet the appetites of our student group, inspiring them to pursue their career goals.”
