USW Film graduate wins best short film award in Berlin

Madhi Fleifel is a graduate of the University’s Film School, and has delivered masterclasses on campus for students since graduating. The Film School celebrates 50 years of Film this year, and has a rich history of producing successful film makers. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Madi won the ‘ silver bear’ for best short film at the prestigious festival in Berlin, an accolade which Film course leader Shafeeq describes as ‘ one of the most importance short film prizes in Europe, alongside Cannes’. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Madi has also been nominated for ‘best European short’ in the European Film Awards. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
