The Welsh Flag and the Union Jack Flag are today (Friday 17 June) flown at half-mast on Ceredigion County Council Penmorfa and Canolfan Rheidol buildings, to remember Jo Cox MP who was horrifically attacked and killed yesterday (Thursday 16 June). ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Jo Cox was Labour MP for Batley and Spen and was shot and stabbed in an assault by a member of the public in her constituency. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Leader of Ceredigion County Council, Councillor Ellen ap Gwynn, said: “This is a tragic and senseless attack, and we would just like to show our sympathy towards Ms Cox’s family and friends and to those that knew her, she will be sadly missed.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
