Five community recycling sites in Powys will benefit from the addition of banks to collect small electrical appliances for recycling, the council has confirmed.
Residents will be able to recycle unused or broken small electrical items such as toasters, kettles, irons, DVD players, games consoles, radios and phones at these banks. The new recycling banks are available for use at the following community recycling sites:
• Crickhowell, Beaufort Street
• Hay on Wye, Oxford Road
• Llanidloes, Old Cattle Market
• Rhayader, Dark Lane
• Talgarth, High Street
Councillor John Powell, Cabinet Member for Environment and Sustainability, said: “We are delighted to be able to provide additional recycling banks for the collection of small electrical appliances in Powys.
“We already have two of these banks at community recycling sites in Llandrindod Wells and Knighton which are very popular and extremely well used by residents.
“These additional five banks will enable more residents to recycle further materials and therefore help to reduce the amount of waste being sent to landfill.”
