Conwy Visitor Economy Figures Rise
The Visitor Economy in Conwy County now generates £819.7 million and supports over 12,000 jobs.
According the latest STEAM* figures, Conwy County attracted 6.71 million day visitors and 2.58 million staying visitors in 2015.
The data shows an increase across the board compared to the previous year and demonstrates the continued appeal of the area as a destination.
Cllr Graham Rees, Cabinet Member for Tourism, Marketing and Leisure, said: “Tourism is a significant sector of our local economy and by working closely with the trade and tourism organisations we intend to keep our focus on the industry and encourage that growth year-on-year.”
“Exciting and innovative attractions continue to develop in the area; and we shouldn’t underestimate the power of major events such as the Wales Rally GB, International Rugby, Access All Eirias and BBC Proms in the Park in raising the area’s profile – all of which is good for local business and tourism.”
