Council Appoints Strategic Director

Conwy County Borough Council has appointed a new Strategic Director (Economy and Place) with the key responsibility to support and develop the local economy. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Jane Richardson was offered the post of Strategic Director at a meeting of Conwy County Borough Council on Friday 11 March 2016. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Jane will take over from Sasha Davies, who is moving to the post of Head of Strategic Development with Horizon Nuclear Power. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Jane lives in Llandudno and is currently the Director of a Strategy & Planning Consultancy based in the County. She has previously worked in various roles for Welsh Government and the National Trust.
Jane is expected to take up the Strategic Director (Economy and Place) post at Conwy Council in early summer 2016. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Cllr Dilwyn Roberts, Leader of the Council said, “A great deal has been achieved in relation to the local economy and regeneration under Sasha’s leadership, but there is still plenty more to do. The Council has been very fortunate to attract such a high calibre candidate in Jane and I am sure that Jane will make a valuable contribution to Conwy and look forward to working with her.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
