Thousands Enjoyed North Wales’ Largest Free, Family Fanzone!
Events Conwy last night hosted North Wales’ largest free, family Fanzone for Euro’s Semi Final, Wales v Portugal.
6,500 fans joined together to support our boys at Eirias’ Eisteddfod Field and enjoyed a free, family friendly environment topped off with some low key children’s entertainment and an impressive 50sq meter screen to watch the game.
Despite not getting the result everybody wanted, those in attendance agreed that coming together to watch the match provided an atmosphere that epitomised Together Stronger.
Conwy Event’s Manager Rachael Gill said “I’m so proud of Conwy’s events team for pulling together such an impressive and well attended event at such short notice. There were a couple of incidents of flares within the crowd, but our response was swift and the perpetrators were dealt with quickly with little impact on the rest of the fans.”
Conwy County Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Tourism, Marketing and Leisure Cllr Graham Rees said, “What an atmosphere at Wednesday’s Fanzone! I’m really pleased we were able to organise North Wales’ largest outdoor Fanzone – a night to remember for all.”
