Fatal Collision In Capel Curig

A man has died following a fatal road traffic collision on the A5 at Capel Curig earlier today (Tuesday, May 17th). ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

North Wales Police were called by the Welsh Ambulance Service at 08:39 to a report of a two-vehicle collision outside the Siabod Cafe involving a red-coloured Seat Leon and a Mercedes car. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Other emergency services attended the scene along with the Air Ambulance and the North Wales Police Collision Investigation Unit. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Sadly, the driver of the Seat Leon, was pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody else was seriously injured. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Police are appealing for witnesses and anybody who may have information is asked to contact officers at the Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting reference number U070961. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The road remains closed at this time. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
