Fatal Collision Nannerch Near Mold

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a fatal collision on the A541 Mold to Denbigh Road today (Sunday, May 1). ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

At 2.30pm the Ambulance Service alerted officers to the collision which is believed to have involved one vehicle, a black coloured Volkswagen Golf. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Officers and members of the Ambulance service attended the scene. One occupant of the vehicle was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. A further two people have been taken to hospital. A man has been airlifted to Stoke Hospital having sustained serious injuries and a man has been taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital having sustained what are believed to be minor injuries. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The A541 road at Mold is currently closed and is expected to remain so for some time. Diversions are in place at Afon Wen and Lixum. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Anyone who was travelling on the road at the time and witnessed the collision is urged to contact officers at the Roads Policing Unit on 101 quoting reference number U062339. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
