“Be Aware” Of Changes Due To Snow

Residents of Wrexham are advised that there may be some service disruption as snow is expected later in the week. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Officers are monitoring weather forecasts and members of the public are advised to stay aware of any changes caused by snow. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

A warning from the Met Office warns of snow and poor weather expected from Thursday until Saturday. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Members of the public are advised to put bins and recycling containers out as normal, but services could be affected by the snow. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Residents are also advised to keep an eye on the council’s website for information on school closures; make themselves aware of contact details for their child/children’s school transport operator/s and prepare for any potential changes to transport arrangements. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Cllr David A. Bithell, Lead Member for Environment and Transport, said: “With poor weather and snow are expected across the UK, we advise members of the public to stay aware of arrangements via our online services. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“Snow can catch people unaware, but if people prepare themselves accordingly, it should cause minimum disruption to their day-to-day routine. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“It is likely that services will not be affected, but members of the public will be kept appraised of any changes. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“As the weather is checked daily from October, we are more than prepared for any increased gritting activity and have plenty of salt stocked. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
