Dog Fouling Clampdown Continues
Don’t Be Foul – Pick up the Poo continues to be the Council’s message to those irresponsible dog owners who are still allowing their dogs to foul without picking it up.
Over 102 dog fouling fines have been issued since Kingdom took on the role of enforcement last April with a further 75 issued for dog exclusion zones. This compares with just 21 fines in the previous two years.
Cllr David A Bithell, Lead Member for Environment and Transport, said:
“Dog fouling continues to blight our communities and is something members of the public feel very strongly about. Kingdom Security has been paying particular attention to this offence and the figures show for themselves the success they are having. They are tackling offenders across the county borough and I thank members of the public for continuing to report the matter.”
Reports to the Environment Department of dog fouling has increased since the beginning of this year and incidences of dog fouling can be reported via email to contact-us@wrexham.gov.uk. Names of offenders if known and times of incidences can be reported in confidence.
