Young Photographer’s Work Proves Popular Exhibition At Centre
A photographer’s work has drawn a strong public response thanks to an exhibition at a village resource centre.
Ioan Davies, a 30-year-old photographer who lives in Moss, Wrexham, has a range of his work on show at the Llay Park Resource Centre on Market Square, Llay, part of Wrexham Council’s Youth and Play Service.
Mr Davies has been a keen photographer from a young age, basing his work mainly on scenes of nature and landscapes, photographed in and around North East Wales.
A selection of some of his wildlife shots now forms an exhibition at the centre. A further exhibition of his work will also be shown at the Gwersyllt Resource Centre later in April.
Sarah Smallwood, Centre Support Worker at the resource centre, said: “We’re very proud to be showing Ioan’s work, and his photography has already proven very popular with centre visitors.
“Lots of people have remarked on just how impressive his photos – they’ve seen a very strong, positive response from members of the public.
“And many of the framed pieces, postcards and other items displaying his photographs have sold well. We have even had one member of the public ask if he does commissioned pieces!”
Cllr Hugh Jones, Lead Member for Communities and Partnerships for Wrexham County Borough Council, said: “Part of the reason we have resource centres is so that the work of local artists and creative producers have a space where they can attract the public attention they deserve, and it’s pleasing to see that Ioan’s work is gaining such plaudits.”
