Check The Score On The Door This Valentine’s Day
Caerphilly County Borough Council is reminding residents to check food hygiene ratings this Valentine’s Day.
The Food Hygiene Rating Scheme rates food businesses on their hygiene standards, based on inspections carried out by Caerphilly County Borough Council. Businesses in the area are rated on a scale ranging from 0 which means ‘urgent improvement necessary’ to a top rating of 5 which is ‘very good’.
Whether it’s a table at a special restaurant, a visit to the local takeaway or an evening at a country hotel, it’s important to check the score on the door to ensure a memorable Valentine’s Day for all the right reasons.
Cllr. Nigel George, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Public Protection said: “Valentine’s Day is a busy evening for local restaurants, pubs and takeaways. Whether somebody is looking for a romantic candlelit meal, or relaxing takeaway at home, it’s always important to check the food hygiene rating of where your food is coming from. I would encourage residents to look out for the green and black stickers on windows and doors, or check online in advance.”
