A detailed report looking at the wellbeing of Caerphilly county borough now and into the future was presented to councillors for their views earlier this week (Tuesday 24th January) – with residents also being invited to offer their comments on this important document. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Throughout the summer months, the Caerphilly Public Services Board (PSB) held a number of community events, asking people to have their say on the wellbeing of the area now and in the future. These events and consultation activities formed a key part of the early work around the Wellbeing of Future Generations (Wales) Act, which became law in April 2016 and is intended to help improve the wellbeing of the people of Wales. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The feedback gained, coupled with extensive data for the county borough, has been incorporated into a draft document called the ‘Wellbeing Assessment’- and residents, community groups, businesses and any other interested parties are now invited to make comments on the contents of the draft. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The draft Wellbeing Assessment can be found on the Caerphilly We Want website The closing date for comments is 31st January 2017, with comments being submitted to caerphillywewant@caerphilly.gov.uk ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Following this, the next stage of the process will be to narrow down the number of emerging themes, in order to create the building blocks on which a further important document called the ‘Wellbeing Plan’ will be written. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

To offer communities the opportunity to be involved in this process, the Caerphilly Public Services Board are organising a number of public workshop events during February: – ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

  • Wednesday 8 February – 6pm-8.30pm, Blackwood Methodist Church
  • Monday 13 February – 10am-12.30pm, Elim Community Church, Pontlottyn
  • Thursday 23 February – 2pm-4.30pm, Bedwas and Trethomas Community Hall (next to Bedwas High School)

Please note that booking for these workshops is required. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
