Residents of Carmarthenshire will find plenty of online resources in the county’s libraries to help them make the most of 2017. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Online resources include Universal Class, which offers library members a unique e-Learning experience on subjects including exercise and fitness, home and garden care and computers and technology to name a few, as well as Transparent Language online where people can learn a new language online for free. They offer over 100 languages. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Llanelli Library has also been recently announced as the busiest library in Wales and the third busiest library in the UK with the highest lending figures for books and other loans. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Significant investment in IT has enabled library services to become more accessible to the public with new, high speed PC’s, Wi-Fi including access to social networking (Twitter and Face book), downloadable books, e audio books, Zinio: eMagazines service ZipTales: Interactive stories and activities for children, Comics Plus Library Edition: Free comic books and graphic novels to download, IndieFlix: Movie Streaming service Theory Test Pro: Online simulation of the UK’s driving theory test being available from the libraries website to name just a few. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
