Weekend Of Fun At Pembrey Country Park
The Welsh Game Fair is set to open its doors this weekend at Pembrey Country Park.
Following its resounding success the last two years some 20,000 plus visitors from across the UK and beyond are expected to turn out on Saturday and Sunday possibly making it bigger and better than last year
Considered by many as the pinnacle of the countryside events in Wales, the fair will delight adults and children alike providing shopping opportunities with hundreds of trade stands, craft marquees and a food hall.
By popular demand The Jason Smythe Adrenaline Tour is back and includes hair raising quad freestyle jumps 30FT in the air. Also returning is Dingle Fingle comedy act and his mad cap stunt clowns.
New for 2016 will be the appearance of the Wales Gundog Team, who will provide twice daily demonstrations with their respective top class canines.
In addition there is a whole host of other activities for the whole family. Air gun archery and catapult ranges, fishing, ferrets, hawks and fun fair.
Tickets to enter the game field must be purchased separately. Access to the event is to the left of the park entrance approach which will be signposted.
For those wishing to visit the park, the usual car parking charge applies.
Visitors are reminded that they can purchase sandwiches, crisps, confectionary, plus hot and cold drinks at the Ski Centre or make use of the picnic facilities throughout the park.
Cllr Meryl Gravell, Executive Board Member for Regeneration and Leisure, said: “As a local authority owned facility, Pembrey Country Park relies on the success of large events such as this to boost the funding available to run and improve the park. It’s also a great opportunity to showcase Carmarthenshire as a superb tourist location.”
Gates will open at 9am on both days and admission prices are Adult: £15, Senior Citizen: £10, Child (5 years – 16 years): £5, Family (2 Adults and 2 Children under 16): £35, Children under 5 years free.
