Up to 18,000 cyclists are expected to take part in this year’s Velothon Wales 2016 event. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The 140km closed-road event takes in some of the most beautiful scenery and challenging roads around South Wales, including some parts of the City of Newport. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

A small number of roads in Newport and Caerleon will be affected between 6am and 3pm on the day – please see the interactive maps for more information. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Newport residents are also reminded that due to the Velothon road closures, the Household Waste and Recycling Centre will not be open until 3pm on Sunday 22 May and will then close later than normal at 7pm to allow residents time to access to the site. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
