Love Where You Live Shortlist Announced
The competition is heating up as this year’s Love Where You Live awards applicants are short-listed.
Residents across Rhondda Cynon Taf have come forward in their droves to show how much they love where they live, with a high number of applications being received.
This year’s applications have been incredible across all categories making the competition judges’ job even tougher! The shortlist of the finalists has now been decided and the hunt for the 2016 green champions of Rhondda Cynon Taf comes even closer.
The unique scheme, which is now in its eighth year celebrates and highlights the excellent work that is taking place by individuals, community groups, schools and Streetcare staff to make Rhondda Cynon Taf a cleaner, greener, County Borough.
The Love Where You Live awards take place every summer in Rhondda Cynon Taf and are set to take place on 5th July 2016.
Councillor Ann Crimmings, Cabinet Member for Environment, Leisure & Culture, said:
“Annually the Love Where You Live Awards have grown to become one of the highlights of the Rhondda Cynon Taf calendar as it involves so many different sections of the community who are committed to improving the local environment for the benefit of everyone.
“The entire concept, which was developed by our Streetcare Team, has long-since been recognised as a positive and even pioneering approach to educating and inspiring the general public to assist us in improving their community.
“This is our opportunity to not only congratulate them on their achievements, but encourage others to follow suit. By working together we can make Rhondda Cynon Taf an even cleaner and greener place to live, work and visit.”
