Aggravated Burglaries Under Investigation
Police in Cardiff are investigating two aggravated burglaries which occurred on Monday 2nd January.
The first happened at 5.47pm at a property on Caerphilly Road in the Birchgrove area of Cardiff. The second occurred at around 6.00pm on the same evening at a house on Glan Rhymni in the Splott area of the city.
In both cases access was forced into the properties of elderly Asian residents.
Detectives investigating these incidents are appealing for information and are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a blue Ford Focus ST which was seen at both locations.
Detective inspector Dan Michel of Cardiff CID said: “These were very distressing incidents for the victims of both of these burglaries and we are carrying out extra police patrols in the areas concerned. They victims were very shaken by their experience although were uninjured.
“In both of these incidents the victims received previous unsolicited calls at their homes. I want to remind anyone who gets any unusual or suspicious calls at their homes that they should report it to us immediately by calling 101.
“We will not tolerate this type of criminality and are doing all we can to identify those responsible.”
