Convicted Drug-Dealer Back Behind Bars Following Wildmill Drugs Warrant
A convicted drug-dealer is back behind bars after officers executing a drugs warrant at his Bridgend home discovered heroin and more than £7,000 in cash.
Resham Jemmett, 33, was jailed for five years and seven months at Cardiff Crown Court on Thursday, February 16th, after he pleaded guilty to possessing Class A drugs with the intent to supply.
He was given a further eight months, to run concurrently, for the possession of criminal property.
The court heard Jemmett – who has four previous convictions for possessing drugs with the intent to supply – was stood in bathroom with a wet sleeve when officers raided the property in Wildmill on January 16th.
They recovered 7.64 grams of heroin from the toilet with potential street value of £760, £6,780 concealed in the sleeve of a jacket, and £690 on Jemmett. Scales and other drug paraphernalia were also recovered.
Detective Constable Adam Harding said: “Resham Jemmett’s record shows he has a complete disregard for the law, and we are pleased that he is now back in custody and unable to ply his trade in Bridgend.
“Class A drugs have a devastating impact on communities, inflicting misery upon users and their families, and local residents.
“We hope this sentence sends a strong message to anyone else who sees Bridgend or the surrounding area as a potential market place for drug-dealing.
“As always, I would urge anyone with information about illegal drug activity in their community to tell us what they know via 101. We can and do act upon intelligence from the public.”
