South Wales Police LGBT Network – When one door closes, another opens
As the month long celebration for LGBT History draws to a close South Wales Police Gay Staff Network is getting a new look and name.
As of the 1st March 2016, South Wales Police Gay Staff Network will cease and The LGBT Network will begin. The aim of the network is to champion equality, offer advice, assist in policy development and promote an inclusive community for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals.”
Scot Anderson, Chairperson of the South Wales Police LGBT Network said:
“The Gay Staff Network has been a beacon of support for many over the years within South Wales Police. As a network we enable employees to meet new people throughout the organisation and build new friendships.”
“The LGBT Network will provide the same service whilst representing a more diverse and engaged workforce.”
Richard Lewis, Assistant Chief Constable for South Wales Police said:
“I am a proud supporter of the LGBT community. South Wales Police has been championing the rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals for many years.
“The LGBT Network is an essential service for both officers and staff who identify themselves as either gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender but also those that support the LGBT community. Even though LGBT History Month is drawing to a close I will continue to wear my rainbow epaulets with pride”
