As part of a St John Cymru project, Joshua has been given this opportunity due to an exciting project he completed on the environment and recycling whilst also showing a talent for first aid.
During the tour Joshua was shown how South Wales Police dogs train and live. He met Keiko, Sterling and Sheley during a training session displaying skills of search and tracking. After this Joshua took a tour around the kennels which is home for the police dogs.
Joshua Mainwaring said:
“Seeing how the animals live, work and play was amazing! I never thought that by volunteering and doing something I love I would be able to experience something like this.”
Joshua was also lucky enough to visit the South Wales Police Mounted section where he saw the horses Samson, Bodie, Charlie , Max, George, Marley and Bailey.
Keith Dunn OBE, Chief Executive for St John Cymru Wales said:
“Joshua had this experience due to his number of bagdes, achievements and dedication to the organisation. As a young boy he is an inspiration and role model. I foresee Joshua being a future leader with St John Cymru Wales.”
