SWP will have a number of vacancies for police constables during 2016/2017. Applications are invited from those who currently possess a valid Certificate in the Knowledge of Policing, obtained in the last 3 years, or an approved equivalent (as at 22nd August 2016). Details of the CKP qualification must be submitted with any applications for verification and will not be progressed without it. Walking the beat is more than just making arrests – it’s about understanding the community you serve. The ability to speak to people on their level is a must, as well as respecting the different races and religions that make South Wales such an interesting place to live, work and visit. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Every day is different, but preventing crime, detecting crime, and making the people on your area feel safer will always be your main responsibilities. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

A good police constable will:
•Provide the highest possible standard of customer service
•Be an excellent communicator
•Have a knack for problem solving
•Be an active team player
•Take personal responsibility for achieving results ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

So whether you’re responding to an emergency incident, interviewing a victim, or gathering intelligence, you are key to keeping South Wales safe. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
