Working in partnership for a better game

South Wales Police, Swansea City Football Club and Cardiff City Football Club are working together to get essential information out to people on match days. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Ensuring supporters and the community are fully aware of arrangement and information that may affect match days, South Wales Police has created two Twitter accounts to be credible sources of important information during the sporting fixture. They will also assist when fans travel to away fixtures ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

South Wales Police Chief Superintendent, Josh Jones said ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“Ensuring that football fans and the local communities affected by fixtures have accurate and readily available information on match days is of vital importance to South Wales Police. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“The new Twitter accounts will display travel, policing updates and other relevant information.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

A Swansea City spokesperson said: ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“The club has an excellent working relationship with South Wales Police. This new Twitter account will help us all deliver the latest relevant information to supporters so that they enjoy their match day experience in a safe and hassle-free manner.’’ ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“The New SW Police twitter account will enable fans to receive up to date, important information directly from SWP during the fixture and surrounding periods of time and is a welcome addition to supporters planning their day.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
