Attempted Robbery – Gelligaer Road, Cefn Hengoed

We’re appealing for information following an attempted robbery that occurred on Gelligaer Road in Cefn Hengoed at approximately 5pm on Sunday 12th February. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Two boys and three girls, aged approximately 13/14 years old, approached a 22 year old woman and asked her for a cigarette. When refused, the boys have held the woman by her arms while the girls have gone through her pockets. They took cigarettes and a mobile phone but dropped the items before running off down the road towards Derwerndeg School. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The two boys were wearing dark coloured hooded tops with the hoods up. Two of the girls were wearing pink hooded tops, one was plain and one had a logo on the front. These two girls had blonde hair. The third girl was wearing dark coloured clothing and had long brown hair. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
