Man Arrested Following Collision With On Duty Police Officer

A Caerphilly man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after colliding with an on duty Police Officer yesterday evening. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The 41 year old man was riding an off road bike down Commercial Street, Senghenydd at approximately 8pm yesterday evening, Wednesday 22nd June, when he collided with the officer. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Fortunately the officer sustained minor injuries only and did not require hospital treatment. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The man, who has also been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer, is currently in police custody. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
