City Centre Parking Issues

Councillor Ray Truman, Newport City Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment, Sustainability and Transport, said: “We work closely with the police to try and tackle the problem of irresponsible and selfish parking but the council does not have the powers to fine or prosecute those who break the rules. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“Responsibility for enforcing parking restrictions in Newport, including the city centre, rests solely with the police. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
