D-Day Memorial Parade And Service
The annual D-Day Memorial Parade and Service will take place on Monday 6 June 2016 in Newport city centre.
Members of the 104 Regiment Royal Artillery, under instruction from the Regimental Sergeant Major and in conjunction with Phil Taylor, branch secretary of the Newport branch of the Royal Welsh Comrades Association, will take part.
Parade participants will gather outside Wetherspoons in Cambrian Road from 12.30pm, with the Parade starting at 12.45pm.
The parade will continue down Cambrian Road, turn left onto Bridge Street then left onto High Street to the D-Day Memorial where a short service will take place.
The Mayor of Newport Councillor David Atwell will lay a wreath on behalf of the Council. Other dignitaries attending are the Lord Lieutenant and High Sheriff together with MPs and AMs.
