Benefit From Community Action Fund
Voluntary and community groups are invited to bid for up to £500 funding towards their work as part of Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s pioneering RCT Together approach.
The RCT Community Action Fund has been provided by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council and will be administered by Interlink, which coordinates voluntary and community activity across the county borough.
The aim of the important funding is to allow groups, volunteers and individuals to secure funding to assist with small-scale actions that benefit their local area.
Grants of between £50 and £500 are available for capital and revenue projects, which could be anything from community litter picks, sprucing up a community building or an event or transport for volunteers or community members.
There are terms and conditions relating to the fund and how the money can be spent and all this information can be found at www.interlinkrct.org.uk
Staff from Interlink will also be on hand to advise interested groups and individuals and help them to put together their funding application if needed.
Cllr Keiron Montague, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing, Tackling Poverty and Engagement, has been driving the introduction of RCT Together.
He said: “RCT Together is about bringing together the effort of the Council and its communities to protect and sustain the services and facilities that matter the most.
“The ongoing budgetary pressures faced by the Council mean we can no longer sustain services and facilities alone, and we are working with community groups – with great success – under RCT Together.
“This has seen the relaunch of libraries, community hubs and childcare provisions which are continuing to deliver valuable services to their community, creating employment and training opportunities and generally adding to community enablement and regeneration.
“The Community Action Fund forms part of the RCT Together approach and is a chance for groups and individuals to secure funding towards projects, action, activities and events that make a difference to their community.”
