Mohammed Haji Saddique Charged With 15 Sexual Assault Offences

On Tuesday 15th November South Wales Police charged Mohammed Haji Saddique, 80, from the Cyncoed area of Cardiff with eight offences of ‘assault a girl under 13 by touching’ – contrary to the Sexual Offences Act 2003 and seven offences of ‘indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14 years’ – contrary to the Sexual Offences Act 1956. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The offences, involving four victims, occurred between 1996 and 2006 and took place within the Madina Mosque in Cardiff. Saddique taught at the Mosque from 1976 until 2006 and has had no involvement with the Mosque since then. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Detective Inspector Rob Cronick, said: “Despite today’s charges we are still continuing our investigation and ask anyone who believes they have information which will be of assistance to come forward. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“There are a number of support agencies available to anyone who wishes them to be their point of contact if they have any concerns. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
