The Vale of Glamorgan Council-led Barry Communities First, in partnership with Public Health Wales, will be re-launching the highly successful Foodwise course this New Year.
The course enables residents to learn about which foods to include in a balanced diet, how to create (and follow) a healthy eating plan, and how to increase weight loss through physical activity.
Foodwise will also teach participants how to interpret food labels, and how best to use the nutritional information the labels
highlight.
The sessions are set to take place at Barry Leisure Centre from Tuesday 24 January, between 11.00am – 12.30pm.
Previous attendees have said that the course enabled them to lose weight, eat healthier, and broaden their knowledge on food and exercise.
Barry Communities First is a Welsh Government funded anti-poverty programme aimed at improving the health, prosperity and learning of residents in parts of Buttrills, Cadoc, Castleland, Court and Gibbonsdown.
