Porthkerry Country Park To Host Activity-Filled Event
Vale of Glamorgan’s Porthkerry Country Park is set to host a Heritage Lottery Fund subsidised event full to the brim of outdoor activities.
18 February will see the woodlands of Millwood at the country park welcome Shire horses and tree-felling demonstrations as well as other interactive demonstrations.
Visitors to the park will be able to make a bird table, watch, and take part in, willow-weaving, take part in an axe and sawing workshop, and get stuck into an array of bush craft activities.
The ‘Big Fell’ event is completely free of charge, with visitors being advised to park at the main car park, or walk to the Cwm Ciddi Sawmill and Millwood area of the park. Visitors are advised to wear wellies, as the area in which the events are set to place is likely to be muddy.
Porthkerry Country Park boasts 220 acres of woods and meadowland in a sheltered valley, which leads on to a pebble beach with spectacular cliffs. The park has a number of nature trails, picnic sites, a café, a play area, barbecue areas and mini golf course.
