The Vale of Glamorgan Council with Welsh Government have agreed to fund a Study to explore the transport network issues and opportunities for Dinas Powys.
The money will be spent on analysing the village’s current transport network, with the aim of identifying any issues with it and ways they might be resolved.
Discussions between Council officers and Welsh Government officials have been taking place on this subject for a number of weeks.
Now it has been decided a study into the transport network issues and opportunities in Dinas Powys will be carried out over the coming months with funding for the Study coming from both parties. The cost of the Study will be approximately £15 000.
Cllr Peter King, Cabinet Member for Building Services, Highways and Transportation, said: “We are aware of residents’ concerns regarding the traffic situation in Dinas Powys.
“After successful discussions, we are pleased to announce that, in partnership with Welsh Government, we will undertake a wide-ranging study of the transport network in Dinas Powys. As part of this process there will be consultation with representatives of the local community and opportunities for people to come forward with their ideas, all of which will be considered. We hope that this study will identify realistic and deliverable solutions to the issues identified.”
