Denbighshire Pub Funds Lifesaving Helicopter Missions
A Denbighshire pub has raised lifesaving funds for Wales Air Ambulance to repay the charity for coming to the air of one of their customers.
The Dudley Arms, Llandrillo, organised a series of fundraising events to fundraise for the Welsh helicopter charity, which is close to their heart.
The Wales Air Ambulance crew were called to the Dudley Arms after one of their customers, Gethin Edwards, sustained a head injury. The charity’s helicopter landed in the pub cark park, before airlifting Gethin to Stoke hospital.
After the incident, Llandrillo community decided to raise funds for the charity, and the Dudley Arms hosted a range of events in aid of Wales Air Ambulance.
Alyson Winn, WAA Community Coordinator, said: “The Dudley Arms have first-hand experience of the vital service WAA provides.
“Kind support from the people of Wales keeps our helicopter flying, and it means that we can land right next to the patient and take them to specialist care as quickly as possible.”
The Dudley Arms hosted fundraising quizzes, raffles and barbeques to raise funds for the Welsh helicopter charity, to help fund their lifesaving missions.
The community raised £2016 for the charity, and hope to raise more next year.

“Not only have they fundraised for us in 2016, but they hope to also raise £2017 for Wales Air Ambulance in 2017!
“The outstanding support from the Dudley Arms will help to keep us flying over the country and will fund more than one lifesaving missions in Wales.”
